Two Recover Following Deadly Crash In Central Lubbock

A 40-year-old man is dead after police say he ran a red light and slammed into another car.

The accident happened early Sunday morning at the intersection of I-27 and Avenue Q. Leonell Estrada Junior was not wearing his seat belt and was thrown from his pickup. He died at the scene.

Two people in the other vehicle were taken to Covenant. 25-year-old James Bracy is listed in fair condition. 22-year-old Danny Covarrubio was treated and released.
