Red Raider baseball hosts midweek series

LUBBOCK, TX (KCBD) -

Now ranked No. 2 in the USA Today Coaches Poll, Red Raider baseball hosts Texas Southern for the first time ever starting 6:30 p.m. Tuesday night and 2 p.m. Wednesday afternoon at Rip Griffin Park.

After a 5-0 week, the Red Raiders are 22-4 while the Tigers are 8-15 and just 2-12 on the road.

Texas Tech is undefeated facing teams from the Southwestern Athletic conference, a perfect 9-0.

Tech is 22-4 for the first time since 1997 and after this two-game series, they'll get back into Big 12 play visiting #17 Oklahoma.

The Red Raiders are 3-0 in conference play after an opening series sweep at Texas.
