This week's Pay It Forward segment started out near the intersection of 13th Street and Slide Road.
We set up with our Pay It Forward sign seeking this week's playmaker.
Joshua Towers was riding as a passenger in a vehicle. When they passed by our sign, they pulled over 50 yards down the street. Joshua jumped out and ran towards us. When he arrived, we asked Joshua who he wanted to help out.
Joshua wanted to pay it forward to a woman he credits with saving his life.
Joshua immediately told us that he wanted to help out Sherri Todd. Joshua informed us that he had once been homeless without a roof over his head, but then Sherri let him go to work for her and get a real place to live.
Joshua said if it wasn't for Sherri, he doesn't think he would be alive today.
Joshua felt that he needed to help her and give back some of what has been given to him in the past.
We made the trip to Sherri's home. When we arrived, Sherri opened the door to find Joshua and our cameras on her front doorstep.
Joshua said, "I certainly know that I am alive and breathing because of you...so I want you to have this $300."
Sherri couldn't believe what was happening.
Sherri told Joshua, "That's so not necessary. Thank you."
Sherri said, "I don't know what else to say except 'Thank you very much'"
Sherri gave him a hug and told Joshua that he is a great kid and that he has always been a great person.
