Big Weekend for Texas Tech women's tennis

LUBBOCK, TX (KCBD) -

Winners of 10 matches in a row, #6 Texas Tech Women's Tennis has a huge weekend at the McLeod Tennis Center.

The Lady Raiders (16-3, 4-0 Big 12 Conference) host #7 Oklahoma State (14-3, 2-0 Big 12) at 5 p.m. Friday.  Then on Sunday, Tech hosts #36 Oklahoma (10-4, 0-2 Conference) at noon.

The Lady Raiders extended their win streak to 10 last weekend beating #22 Texas and #15 Baylor.

The Big 12 player of the week, Junior Gabriela Talaba picked up a huge win by knocking off the highest ranked opponent in school history, a three-set victory over #4 Blair Shankle of Baylor.

The 7th ranked Cowgirls come in winning 6 matches in a row, so first place in the Big 12 is on the line Friday at 5.
