Out of more than 30 food establishments inspected this week - there's only one on the Food for Thought list, and it's at the bottom.

Tech Cafe at 1524 50th had 15 violations.

  • Clean utensils were stored in a dirty container.
  • Multiple cans were heavily damaged.
  • Bleach wipes and cleaning supplies were stored next to service items.
  • There were no food handler certificates for employees who handle food.
  • Chili and pies did not have a date mark.
  • An employee used the hand sink for food prep. Hand sinks are for hand washing only to prevent cross contamination.
  • Plates were damaged. The cooler's gasket was damaged.
  • There was sticker residue on plastic food containers.
  • Multiple employees' drinks were throughout the kitchen. Several employees were wearing prohibited jewelry.
  • Food containers were stored on the floor of the walk-in cooler.
  • Tongs were improperly hung on a pot rack. The three-compartment sink was not sealed to the wall. Plastic food containers were stacked while wet.
  • Several areas in the kitchen were dirty.
  • Kitchen ceiling tiles were damaged and the wrong type.
  • There were no paper towels in the restrooms.
  • There were no hand wash signs in the restrooms or the kitchen.

The report shows most of the violations were corrected during the inspection.
