A Lubbock 12-year-old who has been growing her red curly hair for four years, cut it all off today for Locks of Love.
"Because my mom had breast cancer and I heard about it and just wanted to do it," says Allison Griffith who cut her hair.
"Its really amazing, she started this when she was eight when i finished with my chemo and lost all of my hair. She decided that she wanted to have some of her hair for someone else. I am very proud of her, " says Dena Griffith, her mom.
Locks of Love is the non-profit organization that collects 10 inch pony tails to make wigs for kids who have lost their hair to cancer and other illnesses. At Salon Southwest this afternoon, Allison's hair was sectioned off into seven ponytails and then cut off to be shipped to locks of love in Florida. www.locksoflove.org
