Red Light Runner Blamed For Tuesday Afternoon Crash

University Medical Center treated a young boy, Tuesday, for head injuries following a traffic crash Lubbock Police say was caused by a red light runner.

It happened just before 1 o'clock Tuesday afternoon at the intersection of 4th Street and Avenue A. Police say the driver of a white car ran a red light and collided with the blue SUV as it was attempting to make a left turn on 4th Street. The car was broad sided on its passenger side, injuring at least two children. Their current conditions are not available at this time. However, authorities did say a boy suffered critical head injuries and a girl in the back seat was treated for cuts to her forehead.
