Red Raiders 10-game winning streak snapped by Oklahoma

NORMAN, OK (KCBD) -

No. 2 Red Raider baseball saw their 10-game winning streak snapped as they lost the Big XII series opener in Norman to no.15 Oklahoma 6-2.

Texas Tech jumped out to a 1-0 lead, but the Sooners scored two in the 2nd and one, in the third before adding three more in the 8th. John Henry Gonzalez went 4 innings, giving up 3 runs on 4 hits.

With only 4 hits and striking out 16 times, Texas Tech suffered their first conference loss falling to 3-1 and 24-5 overall.

Game 2 Saturday is 2 p.m., but with rainy weather in the forecast, officials may try to move the start to an earlier time.
