Trial begins for man accused of trying to run over a family member

LUBBOCK, TX (KCBD) -

The trial for a Lubbock man charged with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon is underway. 

A'dareius Montele Johns, 23, allegedly threatened a family member with bodily injury, using a vehicle as a deadly weapon.

On June 20, 2016, police responded to a home in the 5100 block of 31st Street in Lubbock. 

The alleged victim claimed Johns tried to run him over after an argument.

The man did tell police that Johns had calmed down and he did not want to press charges.

The trial began Tuesday morning.
