The high plains wine grape crop is looking extremely promising this year. Barring any late freezes, we are looking at potentially one of the biggest grape crops ever, not only here but all over Texas.
An early crop can also equate to excellent quality grapes and we could potentially finish a lot of varieties ahead of schedule. However, as in anything related to growing any crop on the high plains getting by one challenge like a late frost is just that…one challenge.
All in all, the potential for this crop is extremely good and there's lots of optimism in the high plains vineyards.
