Tyrone Carter indicted, charged with kidnapping teenage girl

LUBBOCK, TX (KCBD) -

A Lubbock man will soon stand trial for aggravated kidnapping and aggravated sexual assault.

A Lubbock grand jury indicted 43-year-old Tyrone Carter on Tuesday.

Police say he kidnapped a teenage girl on Jan. 12, chained her up in an abandoned apartment near 34th and Juniper, beat and sexually assaulted her.

She was able to escape the next day and flag down police officers.
