LUBBOCK, TX (KCBD) -

This week is National Dog Bite Prevention Week.

We spoke with a Lubbock mail carrier who sees his fair share of friendly pooches and not-so-friendly ones.

Mail Carrier Gabriel Tarango said, "Small dogs, big dogs - even though the size doesn't matter, they're all capable of biting. About a year and a half ago, a pit bull got me real quick...able to get away."

There is good news. The U.S. Postal Service tells us that here in Lubbock, dog attacks on mail carriers dropped by nearly half in 2016.
