Man seriously injured, hit while walking in East Lubbock

LUBBOCK, TX (KCBD) -

A pedestrian is suffering from serious injuries after he was hit by a vehicle in East Lubbock. According to the Lubbock Police Department the crash occurred around 12:15 a.m. in the 1300 block of Guava Ave.

Police tell KCBD a 49-year-old black male was attempting to cross the street while there was a vehicle traveling northbound and a vehicle traveling southbound on Guava Ave. The northbound vehicle, seen with the shattered windshield in the photos, struck the pedestrian.

The injured man was taken to the hospital via EMS with serious injuries.The driver of the vehicle stayed at the scene and was speaking with officers.

LPD accident investigators were called to the scene and continue to investigate the incident.
