BROWNFIELD, TX (KCBD) -

Jeff Smith has been confirmed as the new Brownfield Head Football Coach/Athletic Director, confirmed by the school board on Monday night.

Smith has been the Offensive Coordinator at West Texas-Stinnett and was also the head baseball coach of the 5th ranked Comanches.

He will replace Bryan Welps, who guided the Cubs to 28 wins in 6 seasons. Coach Welps left to return to River Road where he spent 6 years before taking the Brownfield job.
