Lubbock police say speeding led to the death of a motorcyclist early Friday morning.
It happened around 1:45 a.m. on I-27 near 4th street. A witness told police 24-year-old Joseph Kidd was traveling at least 120 miles an hour before losing control of his bike and crashing into a guard rail. The impact threw his body 50 feet.
Kidd was pronounced dead at University Medical Center.
