Irish Company To Build Wind Farm In West Texas - KCBD NewsChannel 11 Lubbock

An Irish company is hoping to bank in on West Texas weather.

Airtricity announced Friday it will build a wind farm like between Lubbock and Amarillo. You can expect to see turbines standing on 23,000 acres of land by the end of next year.

It's estimated the wind farm will produce enough power for more than 75,000 homes.
