1 in custody after aggravated robbery

LUBBOCK, TX (KCBD) -

Twenty-year-old Marcell Woodall is currently in custody after an alleged armed robbery took place near a Schlotzsky's Sandwich shop at 5204 Slide Rd.

It was around 4 p.m Friday the Lubbock Police Department were called to the area after a female called saying she heard gun shots, according to an LPD news release. The shots from the area came from the robbery victim and suspects while they were attempting to a make a purchase of a gaming system.

In attempting the purchase, an altercation broke out and shots were fired at the victim's vehicle. Both the victim and the suspect fled, however, the unamed victim, caught up with police later near the South Plains Mall.

Nearly an hour later Special Operations investigators spotted the suspects vehicle in the parking lot of a 7-eleven near Zenith Avenue and Parkway Drive. This is where police caught up with Woodall, who has since been charged with aggravated robbery.

Though police were able to find Woodall, they were not able to locate the other suspect, who is described as a black male. No other details have been released on the description of this suspect. 

Police were also able to find a handgun that matched the description given by the victim. Detectives are still looking into the incident and are continuing with the investigation.
