LUBBOCK, TX (KCBD) -

Lubbock police have identified the suspect involved in an officer-involved shooting that happened early Monday morning.

30-year-old Adam Rojas remains in serious condition as the investigation continues.

Rojas faces charges of aggravated assault on a peace officer, evading arrest, failure to identify, and unauthorized use of a motor vehicle.

Police say the pickup he was driving had gone missing from a Lubbock car dealership, but had not been reported stolen as of Monday morning.

Police responded to a call about a suspicious vehicle at the Family Community Center Mobile Home Park, around 1:30 a.m. Monday.

When officers confronted the driver, police say he put his pickup truck in reverse and drove towards an officer. That officer fired several shots at the suspect, who then fled the scene.

Police chased the vehicle until officers made a forcible stop, in an alley near East 26th Street and Date Avenue.

Investigators say the suspect got out of his truck holding something in his hand. The officers believed it to be a weapon and fired at him.

EMS took the suspect to the hospital with serious injuries. None of the officers were injured.

All three officers that fired their weapons are now on administrative leave, which is standard procedure after a shooting.
