No. 6 Red Raiders outlast New Mexico with huge offensive showing

ALBUQUERQUE, NM (KCBD) -

It was a wild Wednesday in Albuquerque as No. 6 Texas Tech and New Mexico combined to score 42 runs on 45 hits in a four-and-a-half-hour game won by Texas Tech 27-15.

The Red Raiders scored two in the first and second, then added five in the third and two in the fourth, but they still trailed 14-11 in the sixth.

Texas Tech explored for seven runs on the sixth and eight in the seventh to pull away and get a split with the Lobos.

Hunter Hargrove, Orlando Garcia and Brian Klein each had four hits in the game.

The Red Raiders hit five home runs: Jung, Hargrove, Garcia, McMillion and Klein

Texas Tech returns home to face Big XII-leading TCU in a sold-out series at Rip Griffin Park starting 7 p.m. Friday night.
