Lady Raiders hosting NCAA Golf Regional

LUBBOCK, TX (KCBD) -

The Texas Tech Women's Golf Team earned a No. 9 seed during Thursday's Selection Show and even better, they will get to host the NCAA Lubbock Regional.

Texas Tech, along with 17 other schools and six individuals, will play at the Rawls Course May 8-10. It's the first time in 12 years that the Lady Raiders get to host an NCAA Regional.

This is the 7th time in eight years and 17th overall time that the Lady Raiders are in an NCAA Golf Regional.

Per a Texas Tech press release, the field for the NCAA Lubbock Regional will be packed.

UCLA headlines the 18-team field as the top seed followed by Arizona State, Furman, Kent State, Texas, Oklahoma, BYU and San Diego State. Fellow Big 12 foes TCU (No. 10 seed) and Iowa State (No. 13) will also head to West Texas as eight of nine conference schools earned an NCAA selection with five making the trip to Lubbock.

Texas Tech just finished 3rd in the Big 12 Championship, the best finish in program history.

Admission will be free for the NCAA Lubbock Regional.
