LUBBOCK, Texas – Texas Tech seniors Reginald Davis III and Ondre Pipkins signed NFL free agent deals Saturday night as Pipkins agreed to terms with the Washington Redskins while Davis is heading to the Atlanta Falcons.

Davis, a wide receiver out of Teneha, Texas, caught 97 passes over his Red Raider career, totaling 1,301 yards and 18 touchdowns through the air. He averaged 13.4 yards per catch over his career which encompassed 49 games.

In addition to his role in Tech’s high-powered offense, Davis was also one of Tech’s primary kick returners where he averaged 22.7 yards a return. One of his most memorable plays of Davis’ career came in the 2013 Holiday Bowl where he returned a key kickoff 90 yards for a touchdown as part of a memorable 37-23 victory over 16th-ranked Arizona State.

Pipkins, meanwhile, played one season for the Red Raiders after transferring to Tech from Michigan. Pipkins, a native of Kansas City, Missouri, started and played in 11 of 12 games during the 2016 campaign where he led the interior defensive line with 32 tackles (21 solo), including four that went for a loss.

The duo joins first-round selection Patrick Mahomes II as Red Raiders moving on to the NFL. Mahomes, the nation’s leader in total offense the past two seasons, was selected No. 10 overall Thursday evening by the Kansas City Chiefs, marking the highest a Red Raider quarterback has ever been chosen.
