Tomorrow, fireworks will light up the Lubbock skylines and hundreds of floats will march down Broadway.

Broadway Festivals, Inc. Celebrates 16th Annual 4th on Broadway Celebration

Lubbock, Texas - Broadway Festivals, Inc. is proud to present to the South Plains community the 16h annual 4th On Broadway Celebration to be held on Tuesday, July 4th, 2006. "Life, Liberty, Lubbock" is this year's theme. This popular community-wide celebration is known as "the Largest Free Festival in Texas" and features a series of exciting events for children and adults.

The festivities begin at 9 a.m. on Tuesday, July 4th with the PlainsCapital Bank Parade on Broadway between Avenue Q and University. The AT&T Street Fair begins after the Parade. The Street Fair showcases more than 700 local and regional musical artists on 8 different stages through out the day and attracts more than 100,000 people from Lubbock and other surrounding communities, including eastern New Mexico. A city-block sized Kids Area will feature a 3 on 3 basketball tournament, kid's performance stage, rock climbing wall, water polo provided by the Lubbock Fire Department, space walk jumpers, face painting, and arts and crafts. The Kids Area is sponsored by the McDougal Companies, Texas Tech University System, Texas Tech University, and the Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center.

At 7:30pm, the Wells Fargo Bank Evening Concert features an array of leading West Texas singers and musicians in a spectacular 2 hour and 45 minute concert featuring an ecletic mixture of many musical styles . The concert concludes with the breathtaking patriotic music of The Lubbock Youth Symphony Orchestra accompanied by a spectacular 20 minute choreographed fireworks exhibit sponsored by Gandy's Dairies, the Gandy's Firework's Extravaganza .

Free parking and shuttle service will be available from the parking lot located at 42nd Street and Avenue A.

NOTE: All these events are free of charge, but you can pay for premier seating and parking to the evening concert and fireworks show.  Tickets are $20 and are available by calling Select A Seat at (806) 770-2000.
