DPS Troopers Participate In Operation CARE

More than 40 million Americans will be driving out of town this holiday weekend.

DPS Troopers will be working overtime to make the road-ways safe. 150 area DPS Troopers will be out in full force Friday through Monday, July 4th as part of Operation Care or Combined Accident Reduction Effort. They'll be looking for seat belt violators, speeders, and drunk drivers.

"We'd like everybody to have a good time, have a safe 4th, and please slow down and buckle up and be cautious while you're out on the road," said DPS Corporal John Gonzalez.
