Weekend Wreck Kills Two

Two people are dead, including a 3-month old baby, and two others are injured after a wreck in South Lubbock County Sunday. The wreck happened just after 5:30pm on Highway 87 near Woodrow Road. DPS says 58-year-old Mary Aguero of Tahoka was traveling North on Highway 87.

That's when 21-year-old Oscar Beltran of Lubbock failed to yield the right of way to the Ford Explorer when coming onto the highway from Woodrow Road. The explorer slammed into the passenger side of the Mercury Cougar. Twenty six-year-old Isabell Segura died at UMC. Three-month-old Margarita Dominguez died at Covenant Medical Center. They were both in the Cougar.

Beltran is in extremely critical condition at UMC. Aguero is at Covenant, her condition is not available at this time. DPS Corporal John Gonzales says the wreck is under investigation and a toxicology report has been ordered.
