Hurricane victims will be getting help from Lubbock's Salvation Army.
The disaster alert response team will be leaving for Mississippi Saturday. They will be driving the disaster canteen to help those in need. The trailer is stocked with food and water.
"We go right into the area that is most effected and set up and try to take care of the responders and the victims," said Dave Freriks, disaster alert response team chairman.
Last year, the Salvation Army volunteers from Lubbock responded to hurricane victims in Florida.
