Fire Station 13 Re-Opens In NorthWest Lubbock

Fire Station 13 is responding to calls and fighting fires for the first time in ten years.

That bell signals the official grand opening of a fire station. The location has unofficially been open for about two months now and already response time has improved by 30 seconds. "Thirty seconds may not sound like a lot but when a fire is burning that's a tremendous amount of time," said Steve Hailey with the Lubbock Fire Chief.

Lubbock recently annexed land North of Fire Station Thirteen and it's estimated 700 new homes will be built there.
