A group is hoping to raise funds and awareness for people with disabilities by cycling 4,000 miles across the country and through Lubbock. It's called the Journey of Hope and today the group is riding through Lubbock as they head 100 miles to Snyder.
The journey started at the Golden Gate Bridge in San Francisco and Lubbock is the cyclist's halfway point to Washington D.C. The 24 cyclists are members of the Pi Kappa Phi Fraternity. While in Lubbock, the group visited the State School Wednesday and played softball with some of the folks out there They even donated $750 to the school.
Nationwide the team has raised more than $450,000 for people with disabilities. The group has about a month left of riding to complete their 65-day journey.
