Lubbock City Council Passes Resolution On Eminent Domain - KCBD NewsChannel 11 Lubbock

The Lubbock City Council is supporting private property rights.

On Thursday, the council approved a resolution to call on state lawmakers to support a law that will place limitations on eminent domain. The Texas Senate preliminarily approved a law prohibiting cities to condemn private property for economic development.

Thursday's action comes after the Supreme Court ruled that a government entity could seize private property in the name of economic development.
