Sydney Kessler

Sydney Kessler joined the KCBD team in late July of 2017 and is eager to bring the latest breaking news and updates to the West Texas region.

Sydney came from Southern Illinois where she graduated with a bachelor’s degree in Radio/Television, and two minors, Political Science and Communication Studies. While in school she worked at two TV stations, WSIU as a reporter and anchor, and WSIL as their weekend producer. Covering everything from shootings, tornados and the budget crisis, Sydney is excited to see what her time in Texas will hold for her.

Her passion for TV news began when she was a young girl watching Peter Jennings and Martha Raddatz break news and change lives through a screen and she remembers telling her dad that she wanted to be just like them. Sydney grew up in the suburbs of Chicago with her younger sister and parents, both of whom inspired her love for travel. Having been to Qatar and Costa Rica, her dream is to one-day backpack across Europe. She also loves to hike and camp, and during her free time, you can usually find her watching live music.

Motivated and determined, Sydney is looking forward to finding and sharing the essential stories with the Lubbock region.

If you have any story ideas that you think are newsworthy, please send them over to Sydney at SKessler@kcbd.com and let her take a look.
