The special session on school finance ends Wednesday and Governor Rick Perry is already saying he will call another special session if legislation is not reached.
House and Senate negotiators have agreed to give teachers a pay raise, but they still haven't found a way to fund schools and lower property taxes. Even if an agreement is reached, it may be difficult to get the plan approved because of the deadline.
Senate Democrats are also threatening to filibuster an increased sales tax.
