New research shows four-way stop signs are not slowing Lubbock drivers.
"We found through studies that people drive faster in between stop signs especially in areas where they didn't think there should be one to begin with." said Jere Hart, Lubbock Traffic Engineer.
Stop signs used to be approved by the city manager's office, but now the citizens traffic commission will handle all four-way stop sign requests. They'll study the area and make sure the sign is needed.
