Theft Suspect On the Loose After Targeting Two Convenience Stores

Police are searching for a suspect involved in two Wednesday morning convenience store thefts.  They say just after 2 a.m. the suspect walked into the 7-11 at 4th Street & Detroit Avenue demanding money from the cashier. We're told he grabbed an undisclosed amount of money from the register and ran.

Just an hour later police say he went to the E-Z Mart at 5450 50th Street and again, took money from the register. Police believe the suspect fled on foot. They are calling these thefts instead of robberies because he did not have a weapon. Again, the suspect remains on the loose.

He is described as a black male wearing a white hat, orange shirt, white shorts and slippers. If you have any information, please ask that you call Crime Line at (806) 741-1000.
