Texas Tech to Honor Deceased Student - KCBD NewsChannel 11 Lubbock

Texas Tech will lower its flags to half staff Monday in honor of a student.

21-year-old Chris Chilcoat died Tuesday, July 12 from an apparent accidental drug overdose. Friends tell us Chilcoat had been taking a lot of prescription drugs.

The Lubbock Medical Examiners office is awaiting a toxicology report to determine the actual cause of death.

Chilcoat was a sophomore in the college of Mass Communications at Tech.
