If you live in West Lubbock, and frequently drive down Milwaukee Avenue, you can expect many delays in the coming months.
The Milwaukee Avenue Project will create a seven-lane North-South thoroughfare in West Lubbock. Monday, the project entered a new phase. So, many drivers can now expect to see detours from 34th Street, South. Construction is expected to be complete in March of 2006.
66th Street will be closed Tuesday, from Iola to the Brownfield Highway. That is where utility workers will be spending the day installing water and sewer lines. The street is scheduled to be open again by Wednesday morning.
It is seal coating time again. Monday road crews were working on Indiana Avenue, from 4th Street to Erskine. Crews will be there again Tuesday. Other locations are scheduled throughout the week, weather permitting.
