Americans are back in space for the first time since the Columbia tragedy, but hundreds of South Lubbock residents missed the launch.
Electricity went out in Southwest Lubbock at 9:24 Tuesday morning, seven minutes before the launch. LP&L customers living south of 87th Street between Indiana and Slide were affected. A squirrel apparently crossed the wires and tripped the power.
Power was restored approximately 20 minutes later.
