Driver Says Lack Of Sleep Caused Interstate Crash - KCBD NewsChannel 11 Lubbock

A Lubbock man says he fell asleep at the wheel and woke up as he crashed his Mustang into a guardrail.

It happened just before 2 o'clock Wednesday afternoon along the 50th Street ramp and I-27. Twenty-seven year-old La Don Burrell drove his car up the ramp, crashed it into a guard-rail and slid down the embankment. Burrell was thrown underneath the car.

Paramedics took him to Covenant Medical Center with serious injuries but he's since been treated and released.
