24 million people in Mexico will not eat dinner tonight, and Mexico is looking to Lubbock for help.
A group from Mexico visited the Breedlove Dehydration Plant and the Food Bank's GRUB farm Wednesday morning. Mexican agencies estimate their country is wasting tons of food every day.
"The biggest problem we're facing in our country is starvation, and there is a solution for that in the short term, because the food is there and it's being waste," said Ricardo Bon the president of Food Banks of Mexico.
The group says the GRUB farm is a lesson in how the Mexican people can be self-sufficient and grow their own vegetables. They also plan on buying some food from Breedlove until they can build their own.
