Lubbock Man Helps Catch Suspected Car Thieves

A Lubbock man and his dog helped authorities arrest a suspected car thief Wednesday.

Police say two young men stole a car Wednesday afternoon and crashed it into a storage shed at 39th and Avenue U. The men jumped out of the car and started running. Juan Garcia's dog started barking and Garcia was able to stop one of the suspects.

"He said, 'You're not an officer, I'm just gonna get out of here.' I said, `No, don't you move. Don't you move because I will stop you," explained Juan Garcia.

Sheriff's deputies have since arrested the other man and recovered three stolen cars.
