So far this year, 20 children have died nationwide from being left inside a car. Dr.Christopher Piel, the University Medical Center Emergency Room physician, says in a matter of minutes the temperature inside a car can reach dangerous levels for a child.
"Children that are left in a car have no air movement, and if the car is outside in the sun, it creates a green house effect." said Dr. Piel.
It is against the law in Texas to leave a child under 7, unattended in a car.
