Texas House Speaker Calls Special Session Waste Of Time - KCBD NewsChannel 11 Lubbock

"A waste of time" - that's what Texas House Speaker Tom Craddick is calling the special legislative session on school finance.

On Thursday, Craddick urged other state leaders to drop the remaining two weeks of the 30 day special session. He says they're wasting time and money because neither chamber has been able to pass any legislation.

Craddick made the statement moments after Governor Rick Perry and Lieutenant Governor David Dewhurst said they were determined to continue sessions until they reach a solution. This is the second special session so far.
