Red Raiders roll past Maine

LUBBOCK, TX (KCBD) -

The Texas Tech Red Raiders won their 31st straight non-conference game at home Tuesday night as they routed Maine 83-44.

Texas Tech moves to 2-0 for the fifth time in the last seven seasons.

Keenan Evans led Tech with 12 points. Jarrett Culver and Zhaire Smith added 11 each and Niem Stevenson put in 10.

Texas Tech led 49-13 at the half.

Next up the Red Raiders play their first road game as they take on Boston College at the 2017 Naismith Memorial Basketball TipOff Tournament in Connecticut at 11 a.m. Saturday.

Tuesday night's game featured two former Coronado Mustangs. Culver for the Red Raiders and Duncan Douglas for Maine. Coronado's former head coach Randy Dean was in attendance at the United Supermarkets Arena to see his former players in this NCAA Division I setting.

6,317 fans were on hand to watch the game at the USA.

The Red Raiders are back home Nov. 22 to play Wofford at 5:30 p.m.
