Bargain hunters were out in mass numbers during the second day of the annual state wide tax free holiday. NewsChannel 11 went to the South Plains Mall to do some shopping and to find out what people think about the tax free weekend. Shoppers poured in by the car fulls looking for great bargains Saturday at the South Plains Mall.
"I'd say about 50 to 60 dollars maybe even more," Sherry Moore said when asked about how much she was saving.
With the tax free weekend in full swing many are taking advantage of the great deals going on across the state.
"The tax break is really a good incentive."
Sherry Moore has her own ideas about this weekend. "You get a little extra because you don't have to pay the tax so like if your saving eight dollars here that's eight dollars you can put on something else so you get a lot more for the money, you get an extra 10% off on the red tag...your getting good prices just without the sales tax is a lot."
With savings being the key for this weekend some come out knowing that they will spend the same amount but be able to leave with more.
"You spend money you don't save money at sales," said Jimmy James a shopper taking advantage of the tax free weekend.
The South Plains Mall has extended its shopping hours for Sunday. It will open an hour earlier at 11 a.m. and close an hour later at 7 p.m.
