The South Plains Mall was busy with shoppers since the tax free holiday began on Friday. An estimated 50,000 additional shoppers were expected to flock to the mall this weekend. All hoping for the same thing - to get more for their money.
"The sales have actually helped out a little bit more, the clearance sales and stuff like that, but the tax is an extra break," Shana Ximenez said.
It's estimated that the tax break will save Texans $47 million this weekend.
