LUBBOCK, TX (KCBD) -

LISD called a special board meeting for today to name a sole finalist for the superintendent position.

The board meeting began at 8 a.m. The first item on the agenda after the call to order was "Consideration and Possible Action on Naming of Lone Finalist for the Position of Superintendent of Schools."

The finalist, Kathy Rollo, began her teaching career at LISD as an elementary teacher in 1989. According to her LinkedIn profile, in 1999 she became the Assistant Principal at Murfee Elementary. After nearly two years, she was promoted to Principal, where she remained for just over 10 years.

In 2009 Rollo was named the Executive Director of Leadership and Professional Development for LISD. She stayed in that position for nearly four years,

In 2013, she was named the Associate Superintendent for LISD. She held that position for four and a half years.

In July of this year, she left LISD and took the position as Adjunct Instructor at Texas Tech University.

Rollo received her doctorate in education from Texas Tech University.
