Lubbock ISD can't wait on the state to create it's budget.
Thursday, board members started discussing a proposed budget of $165.9 million. That's a $2.2 million decrease from last year. LISD will get an additional $3 million from property tax increases this year. But that means, the state will give the district $6 million less.
The board plans to vote on the budget, August 25th after a 5:30 p.m. public hearing.
