Truck Stolen by Dickens County Escapee Found?

There's reason to believe escaped Dickens County inmate Tommy Pina is no longer in the stolen Chevrolet pickup law enforcement was looking for. Sources say a truck matching the description of the one taken from Dickens County was found Saturday evening in Kent County. A passer-by noticed the truck and called the Kent County Sheriff's Office. The truck was spotted near FM 1081 and 2320. Texas Rangers as well as other law agencies were called to the scene.

Officials say Pina scaled a ten foot razor wire fence and escaped from the Dickens County Jail Thursday afternoon. He then stole the truck and a handgun from a nearby home. Pina is a 29-year-old Hispanic male. He is 6'1", 170 pounds. He has tattoos on his chest, left leg and shoulder.

Pina is considered armed and dangerous. If you see him, don't approach him. Call the Texas Rangers at 472-2884 or call the Dickens County Sheriff's Department at 623-5533. A $250 reward is being offered.
