"I am going to work hard. I am like 'Rudy', I might not have the size but I have the heart," said "Knight School" hopeful Robbie Wilson.
Robbie is a Texas Tech Junior and will jump all over this opportunity of a lifetime. Before, his lifetime dream was in dental school. He's studying bio-chemistry. "If I don't go the NBA first," he laughed.
Casting Director Paul Gordon has spent more than a week in Lubbock. He's recruiting applicants and knows what he's looking for. "Kids with drive and heart will succeed," he said.
He says the reality show is for the kid who missed an opportunity to play basketball in school. "Some of these students got over looked in division one or two schools. But now it's time for redemption to fulfill a dream," said Gordon.
Paul says whoever makes it to the end will have an amazing experience. "Everybody is screaming for this kid by name, everyone at home knows this kid and they're screaming," said Gordon.
"I'm ready! I got the heart and the passion! Sign me up," said Robbie.
Casting call is this Wednesday at O'Reily's Auto Parts on 82nd Street and University from 3 to 6 p.m. Shooting starts next month and ends in early October. The show airs in February right before March Madness. You can catch it on ESPN on Sunday nights.
