Chase through Northwest Lubbock ends with two in custody

LUBBOCK, TX (KCBD) - Two people have been arrested after a short chase through Northwest Lubbock.

DPS Troopers say the chase started when they tried to make a traffic stop in the 2700 block of Cornell.

The driver refused to stop, and at the intersection of University and Santa Fe, both a male and female ran from the car.

Both were later taken into custody in the front yard of a home in the 2500 block of 1st place.

When troopers searched their car, they found narcotics inside.

Juan Jesus Garza, 30 of Lubbock has been charged with evading with a motor vehicle, evading arrest, possession  of a controlled substance, tampering with evidence.

Esther Olguin, 49 of Lubbock has been charged with forgery of financial instrument.
