Child hospitalized after being struck by vehicle on Ave. Q

LUBBOCK, TX (KCBD) -

A child was taken to the hospital on Saturday evening after being struck by an SUV.

Police say just after 5:30 p.m. they received multiple calls about a child that had been struck by a vehicle on Avenue Q near 58th Street.

Officials say a 12-year-old tried to cross Avenue Q and was hit by an SUV traveling southbound.

The child was taken to the hospital with serious but non-life-threatening injuries. He is currently listed in stable condition.

The driver of the SUV will not face charges.
