LUBBOCK, TX (KCBD) -

A Sunday morning crash has sent one man to the hospital and prompted the help of accident investigators to look into the incident.

The Lubbock Police Department was called in at around 8:25 a.m. Sunday near 1400 North Loop 289 after it was reported someone had crashed their pickup truck. Officers arrived to find a 24-year-old man with serious injuries, according to an LPD news release. He has been identified as Anthony Roumell.

Because of how serious the man's injuries were the Accident Investigation Unit was called to the scene. They were able to determine the man was driving eastbound in the 1400 block of North Loop 289, tried to exit the Loop onto the eastbound access road.

When the pickup rolled it hit a stop sign and a wooden telephone pole. Investigators believe the man was not wearing his seatbelt.

He is currently in the hospital with serious injuries.
